Born in Benin, West Africa, Dona Danhoundo started traveling the world at seven years old when he first moved with his parents to the Democratic Republic of the Condo (DRC), then to the United States, then to Zimbabwe, followed by stops in Winnipeg, Canada and eventually Toronto, Canada (where he currently lives).
Fluent in both French and English, nearly fluent in Spanish, and conversational in the native languages of southern Benin (Fon) and Zimbabwe (Ndebele), Dona plays the bass guitar, and has a passion for music and people. A former university football player at York University, Dona now works for a construction equipment company. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, staying active, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures.
Watch as we chat about growing up in different cultures, moving so much at a young age, the concept of home, school experiences, languages, acclimation, racial tension and division, athletics, football, music, family and much more!
